A few weeks ago, Alan made his final trip (somewhat reluctantly) back to our old apartment in Springfield. He went back into the small, but homey space and took one last look; grabbing the extra sets of keys on the way out (which included the coveted pool pass.) I cannot tell you how relieved I was when he offered to make this trip. I would have been a tear-drenched mess to say the least! (All the way there, while I was there, and all the way back more than likely!) He admitted to me that he was overcome with emotion when he took that final look into our first home we had together. It was a small space, but it was our space. We became a family there. Jake will never remember our apartment on the hill that overlooked the city - but Alan, Marissa and I will have lots of memories to share with him. I decided to share some of our favorite photos from our short time at the apartment. I'm hoping it brings you joy and possibly reminds you of your own memories from your first "home" with your family. :)
